2011 World Trader of the Year
Today, Amway is a $9 billion global enterprise with more than 4,500 U.S. employees, 8,500 global employees and four million independent business owners who sell products in more than 82 countries and territories throughout the world. Amway is part of a family of companies that manufacture more than 450 quality products under four main categories: Nutrition & Wellness, Beauty, Home Care and Personal Care. The two flagship brands are Artistry and Nutrilite.
Amway’s direct selling business sales have grown from $6.7 billion in 2006 to a 2011 projection of $10 billion. One of the most recent markets they have expanded to was Vietnam in 2008.
Amway operates a comprehensive Supply Chain, all the way from researching and cultivating natural and organic ingredients on three company-owned farms, to the efficient warehousing and logistics operations that deliver 85 million orders directly to customers.
In 2010, Amway exported 9,700 shipments from the U.S. in support of $8 billion in non-U.S. business sales. Amway also leverages trade agreements with nine countries that save millions of dollars annually in foreign import duties. These agreements favor Amway’s US-manufactured products, making them more attractive in foreign markets and supporting the U.S. manufacturing economy.
